Jenny Kaufman, E.R.Y.T.
Hometown: Cleveland, OH
I am grateful for: Opportunities…..to learn, to practice, to travel, to grow, to eat, to love.
3 words that describe you: Balanced, Loved, Rooted.
Favorite yoga pose and why: Supported Supta Badda Konasana. We all get plenty of opportunities to work hard and give, so few to receive. I think this is one of the most relaxing and beneficial poses in the entire practice and not offered nearly enough.
Things I can’t live without: Burts Bees Lip Balm and Eclipse Gum Winterfrost flavor.
Words to describe your teaching style: While methodical, I try to relate the practice to everyday living….what does all of this have to do with me in the here and now? How can I feel better in this body and move with a little more ease in this life?
When and where was your first yoga class?: Iyengar Yoga taught by a dance colleague of mine, Karen Algire, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. I had just had a baby and after savasana I sat up and my shirt was soaked with milk. Is that too much information????
What inspires you: Humor – I am a sucker for a good story.
What do you do for fun: I read a ton, and I watch alot of sports – my own kids playing, college football, the Cubs and the Blackhawks. I also have this unbelievable dog, a yellow lab named Duck, who I am teaching English to.
Favorite place: The Outer Banks, North Carolina, but I am pretty happy in my own backyard.
