Wendy Cullitan, E.R.Y.T.
Hometown: New Haven, Connecticut
I am grateful for: My family, my friends and my community of yogis
3 words that describe you: Thoughtful, courageous and fun
Favorite yoga pose and why: Bird of Paradise because it requires strength, flexibility, stamina and deep focus—all qualities I need to live well off the mat. And, once I’m up, I feel a surge of power and inner-peace!
Things I can’t live without: My family, yoga, dark chocolate and pen & paper.
Words to describe your teaching style: Invigorating, creative, light-hearted and calming. My wish for my students is that their time on the mat helps to open their mind/body/spirit experience—and that they leave class energized yet relaxed and at peace.
When and where was your first yoga class: My husband originally turned me on to yoga 15 years ago. I began informally practicing with him in the sunroom of our Evanston condo—a couple of years later I sought formal classes around the North Shore.
What inspires you: People who are true to themselves; no matter what.
What do you do for fun: Travel, write, read, garden, watch movies, go to the beach
Favorite place: Anywhere I can find a beautiful beach, blue skies and sunshine
